For Charli, her point of convergence in the music industry is as a DJ. She started off playing energy packed house and disco sets at Casa Negra in Shoreditch, where she earned a residency. This got her noticed by staff from other venues in the area, and lead to her current residencies, Bat and Ball, Queen of Hoxton and Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen. This all sounds extremely hip, however the East London crowd just want to have a good time like the rest of us, so she makes sure to play multi genres, Hip Hop, R&B, House, Garage, Disco and floor-fillers where her aim is to get the crowd dancing non-stop until 2am.
Having residencies in such frequented nightspots, has gotten Charli’s talent noticed enough to lead to her to play for Bugged Out at Winterville Festival in Victoria Park, as well as in Field Day Festival’s VIP area for the past 3 years.
By day, Charli is a gifted make-up artist, working in fashion, editorial and film and television. One really feeds the other, and it’s this sort of cross-pollination that has lead to her DJing for Topshop Oxford Circus, and at all Swarovski’s in store and corporate events. Aside from her commercial DJ work, Charli has notably played before DJ EZ at The Book Club and played at the same event as Dimitri from Paris.
