DJ Skinz

DJ Skinz like most aspiring DJ’s first started messing around with two turntables within the four walls of his bedroom. Years of fine tuning his skills as a DJ gave him confidence to seek out his first ‘Club Resident DJ’ position. His uncontested skills obtained him a resident spot at the legendary midweek club night ‘Soul Kitchen’, at the now titled Capitol Club in the heart of London’s West End Leicester Square. Soul Kitchen was without doubt the hottest midweek R&B club night in London and DJ Skinz was one of the DJ’s that made it the place to be seen.

After years of spinning to some of London's most elite ravers, DJ Skinz was headhunted to work at various London hot spots such as the notable Ministry Of Sound, Embassy, Indigo O2, Ko Ko, Funky Buddha and Runway.

His high prominence in London’s club land and friendship with DJ Swing led him to join the infamous Boogie Bunch. This collaboration progressed in to his first stint at Twice as Nice at Club Coliseum which lasted for five years. Over the past years DJ Skinz rubbed shoulders and cross faders and worked with the likes of Radio One's & MTV’s Trevor Nelson, Idris Elba, Tinie Tempah, Wretch 32, David Beckham, Jay-Z, Kelis, Missy Elliott, Usher, Dizzee Rascal, Labrinth and Beyonce joining him on the stage at various official after parties.

Not content with just being a tour and Radio DJ for Ministry of Sound, DJ Skinz began to feature at various other clubs and events across the UK and all over the globe such as the MTV Lick Parties, the Wireless Festival with Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Trey Songz, Wretch 32, Emeli Sande, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J Blige & Skepta. Other festivals include the EF Summer Ranzer Festival alongside Will I Am, Kesha & Bob Sinclair and not forgetting the 2015 New Yorker Fresh Island Festival in Croatia which featured Snoop Dog, Rick Ross, Mobb Deep, DMX, Redman & Method Man & Pusha T.

Other residencies include The London Edition Hotel, Club Prive' Estonia,Swingers Bat & Ball, Catch A Groove and JuJu.

After a few guest spots on Kiss 100 FM and London’s urban station Choice FM, DJ Skinz was invited to host his weekly show ‘Smoove’ on the Ministry of Sound's radio station in 2007 and this went on until 2010. This was the only urban show on the station which ran for three years. This radio show ran alongside the weekly Smoove club night at the Ministry of Sound for which DJ Skinz was the residential DJ. The branding of Smoove remains popular globally and within the UK.

DJ Skinz now has a new radio show on London’s freshest station ‘Mi-Soul’, which air’s every Thursdy from 11pm until 1am (UK time) playing the best in House, Soul, Hip Hop & RnB past and present.

DJ Skinz's career has gone from four walls to four continents. His club duties during this time have taken him from London to Cyprus, Dubai (PGA Golf Tour & Snoop Dogg’s After Party), Abu, Malaysia, USA, Ireland, Croatia, Muscat, Estonia, Africa, the South of France (Cannes Film Festival), Sweden (Kayne West's After Party), Amsterdam and as one of Ministry Of Sound’s only Urban Tour Resident DJ’s he is only just beginning.
